The restaurant with author’s cuisine, opened by the famous restaurateur Aram Mnatsakanov. The design is dominated by light colors, simple wooden furniture contrasts with pompous chandeliers. On the walls there are plates with star autographs, in the wine cabinets located in the hall – under a hundred names of the Old and New Worlds.
Warm furnishings with openwork lace, chintz lampshades, floral wallpapers, soft sofas, carved mirrors, a sideboard with painted dishes and truly homely comfort from the first minutes invite you to a sedate, thoughtful meal. Traditional Russian treats are served here: caviar, homemade pickles, cabbage soup, pancakes, cheesecakes, fragrant shish kebabs and pies bursting with heat, just out of the oven.
There are practically no restaurants left in St. Petersburg that have retained their location since pre-revolutionary times. An even greater rarity is the preservation of the generic name on an advertising sign. No one will feed Russian dishes better than Palkin.
The restaurant reproduces the atmosphere of an establishment that existed at the end of the 19th century in Russia. Viennese chairs and antique sideboards, worn parquet floors and lampshades create a wonderful atmosphere of a bygone era. Dishes and serving of dishes also correspond to the style: faceted glasses and glass bottles for vodka, tea in glasses with glass holders – and the dishes look the same as a hundred years ago.

The project was opened by chefs Dmitry Bogachev and Eldar Muradov, who worked together for four years in the Ginza Project holding. The institution got its name in honor of the owners. Mr. is a reference to Muradov’s surname, and Bo is an abbreviation of Dmitry’s surname in a certain Asian way. The chef admits that he was nicknamed so for his craving for Asian food.
